Boulder, CO · Whole-Home Remodeling
One owner-led crew for the whole house, from a full gut of an older Mapleton Hill home to a top-to-bottom update of a Table Mesa ranch. We plan the project around Boulder's newer energy code and handle the permits and any historic review.
"Josh remodeled my entire house, top to bottom. His team made sure I was informed and satisfied every step of the way. His quotes were fair and honest, and his work was beyond satisfactory."

Older, high-value homes and a city with a strict code mean a whole-home project has to be thought through end to end. Here is what shapes a Boulder remodel, and how one crew keeps it on track.
Boulder's energy code took effect December 1, 2024. A remodel that substantially reworks both the mechanicals and the wall insulation, roughly half the home or more, can require electric space and water heating, and any addition must be all-electric. We plan the systems around that from day one and have you confirm your project's alteration level with the city.
Many Boulder homes have been around a century, from Mapleton Hill Victorians to homes in Newlands and Whittier. We check what is behind the walls before we open them up, so plaster, old wiring, and dated plumbing turn into a plan instead of a mid-project surprise.
If your home sits in Mapleton Hill or another historic district, exterior changes need a Landmark Alteration Certificate from the city. We build that review into the schedule up front, so the design of the outside and the timeline both hold.
The 1950s and 1960s ranches in Table Mesa take a second story or a pop-top well, which is how many families add a primary suite without leaving the neighborhood. We plan the structure, the stairs, and the new systems so the addition feels like it was always there.
Every exterior wall we open gets re-insulated to the code R-values, and we air-seal as we rebuild. On a whole-home project that adds up to a house that is quieter, holds heat, and costs less to run at an elevation of about 5,430 feet, where winters are real.
A full remodel pulls a permit with the City of Boulder Planning and Development Services, and review can take a few months on a big project. One owner-led crew manages the whole scope and the inspections, so you are not refereeing five companies. Confirm the current timeline with the city.
